De Winter boots are hand made entirely in the Sanders and Sanders factory in Rushden, Northamptonshire. Every aspect in the making of these hand crafted boots takes place on site where the same bootmaking techniques have hardly changed since this family firm first made boots here in 1873.
What makes De Winter boots different?
De Winter boots are all made on our unique Hurst last. Richard de Winter spent two years working with the last maker and the factory to create the boot shape he was looking for. It had to be stylish, a great fit and the optimum dimensions. Only the finest leathers and construction methods are used in the making of each pair.
Sizing
Our boots are true to regular English sizing and are made on our Hurst last which is a regular F, medium wide, fitting. The boots provide a good fitted shape so if you are between sizes we would suggest that you select the larger size.
Please refer to our size conversion chart for international size comparisons. You are welcome to submit drawings of your feet as explained in this section and we will suggest the appropriate size of boot to order.

What soles do you use?
Leather: Our tight grained heavy vegetable tanned leather soles provide good wear resistance and a fine edge finish.
Rubber: Our Itshide stud rubber soles have excellent resistance to wear. Rugged and durable with excellent cushioning and grip these soles are as used by most quality Northamptonshire shoe manufacturers.
How long will it take to deliver my order?
All sizes listed on the website are available for immediate despatch. Orders received by 1pm will be despatched that same day, weekends and bank holidays excluded. UK mainland orders are despatched on a next day fully tracked service. International orders are despatched via secure courier, delivery times vary. See here for further information.

Are your boots available in the high street?
We manage to offer our boots at such good prices since we do not wholesale them to third party retailers. However you are welcome to visit our Sussex store where all the boots in the listed sizes are available for purchase. See here for our opening times.
