Where are De Winter boots made?

We pride ourselves in that every aspect of the making of De Winter boots takes place entirely in England. The whole process from the cutting (clicking) of the hides to the final polish in the shoe room takes place at the Sanders and Sanders factory in Spencer Road, Rushden in Northamptonshire. This family owned factory has been making traditionally goodyear welted boots on this site since 1873.

We chose Henry Sanders and his team to be the designated maker of our boots for the simple reason that they make some of the very finest footwear in the world. And unlike many other Northamptonshire shoemakers they have maintained all the traditional bootmaking skills themselves, without hiving off some of the production processes overseas. This means that their quality control is second to none and since the bootmaking is nearby we are able to keep an eye on every aspect of the manufacturing process.

Inevitably therefore our boots aren’t cheap to make however since we don’t wholesale them to other outlets who would innevitably inflate the price to obtain their mark-up we are able to offer the boots to our customers at sensible prices.
